No more trauma from the Corona drama

Sermon notes

Confess with me: No more trauma from the Corana-drama

But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luke 21:23-28

Jesus was answering a question posed to him about the destruction of the temple. The second temple was destroyed in 70 AD and triggered the 'Diaspora' meaning the Jews were scattered all over the world. This Diaspora went on for nearly 2000 years until Israel was formed as a nation in 1948. The recreation of the nation of Israel is the revelation of the winding down of the times of the Gentiles - the winding down of the church age. That is why Jesus said to look up.

Why look up ? Because of the rapture

How do we know it is the rapture? Because it is called the redemption - the redemption of our bodies as we take on immortality and incorruption.

RAPTURE IS THE REDEMPTION OF OUR BODIES WHICH FINALLY CATCHES UP WITH THE REDEMPTION OF OUR SPIRITS

  • Upon the earth distress (volatility of world's economies, terrorism, lawlessness, disrespect, - see 2 Timothy 3:1,2)
  • The sea and the waves roaring
  • Men's hearts failing them for fear
  • Fear gripping the hearts of men for looking at those things which are coming upon the earth

We want to look at fear and how to stop it in its track.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

  1. Fear is a spirit

  2. Fear is an attitude

Fear is a demon that oppresses people and its purpose is to make the victim lose their mind by invading their mind with negative thoughts that are rehearsed over and over until they become an attitude. With that attitude established, it nows becomes a stronghold or fortress - a negative prison out of which the person cannot escape.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment...

1 John 4:18

Two predominant ways to deal with fear

As an attitude - you pull down the thoughts and cast down imaginations/ thoughts/reasonings

As a spirit - you cast out the demon of fear

By not casting down, you allow the demon to build a fortress in your mind for him to dwell in and then keep you in captivity. The way out is by deliverance, by casting out that demon.

Faith pleases God  - Fear pleases Satan

Recognizing the signs that  fear has invaded your life

  • Fear and frenzy go together
  • Fear and panic go together
  • Fear and fretfulness go together
  • Fear and a sense of overwhelming go together

My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

Psalm 55:4, 5

  • Fear and agitation go together
  • Fear and irrationality go together
  • Fear and torment go together
  • Fear and feeling all shaken up go together
  • Fear and fantasy (crazy imaginations, thoughts running wild)
  • Fear and a sense of trouble go together
  • Fear and an unstable mind go together
  • Fear and a nervous breakdown go together
  • Fear and depression go together

All fear is a fear of death and makes you subject to bondage

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Hebrews 2:14

Fear will result in

  1. Mental Breakdown
  2. Depression
  3. Isolation
  4. Irrational and erratic behavior
  5. Difficulty to communicate with the person as it looks like they are not there

And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Mark 4 :35-41

While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.  And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.  And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.  And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

Mark 5:35-43

Shut out the outlets of fear - SEE NO EVIL , HEAR NO EVIL AND SPEAK NO EVIL

Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone;
thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

Psalm 3:1-6

Cut the Drama. Trauma is cause by drama
