How to transfer your eBooks [PDF format] to your Kindle devices
NOTE:
- All of the eBooks on our website are in PDF format and are viewable on many devices (computer, phones, tablets) but they are not specifically formatted for Kindle devices.
- PDF files sent to Kindle devices maintain their formatting (they look the same on the Kindle as they were designed to appear in the printed book).
You can transfer your PDF eBook onto your Kindle via email (this is the only way to get books onto your Kindle that are not purchased directly through the Amazon website).
1. The email address you send TO is the one associated with your Kindle device (or Kindle app on a mobile phone for example).
Each Kindle device or app install has an email address associated with it. It will be in the format name_random@kindle.com.
You can get the email address from your Amazon account. Log in to Amazon and navigate to Account & Lists > Content Library > Devices.
2. The email address you send FROM must be an approved email address in your Amazon account.
You can associate one or more email address (that are pre-approved to access your Kindle) through Amazon at Account & Lists > Content Library > Preferences then scroll down to Personal Document Settings
3. Create an email TO your Kindle device's email address FROM your approved email address and ATTACH the eBook PDF that you want to transfer.
* As mentioned, the PDF will retain its formatting on your Kindle device. To override this (and make the file more Kindle-friendly), set the Subject of your email to Convert and Amazon will attempt to convert the PDF to a simpler (but more viewable) format.
