The greatest generation: a term used in America of those born between 1901 and 1927, who went through the Great Depression, the world wars (more specifically WW2) and rebuilt America.

The ingenuities and inventions during this time set us up for the modern world. That generation was selfless, self sacrificing and self denying. They built the greatest country ever in the history of humanity and the Gospel went out to multiplied nations of this world. At the same time, while the world was experiencing an industrial and technological revolution, the church of Jesus Christ also had selfless men and women who revolutionized the world with the Gospel of Christ.

Here are some examples:

  • T.L. Osborn (December 23, 1923 – February 14, 2013)
  • Lester Frank Sumrall (February 15, 1913 - April 28, 1996)
  • Granville Oral Roberts (January 24, 1918 – December 15, 2009)
  • Billy Franklin Graham Jr. (November 7, 1918 – February 21, 2018)
  • Kenneth Erwin Hagin (August 20, 1917 – September 19, 2003)
  • Asa Alonso Allen (March 27, 1911 – June 11, 1970)
  • Robert W. Schambach (April 3, 1926 – January 17, 2012)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968)
  • Kathryn Kuhlman (May 9, 1907 – February 20, 1976)

These are prime examples of people who served God faithfully and effectively in their generations. Untold numbers of millions heard the Gospel for the first time and received Christ. In spite of the lack of modern technology that we have available today, they reached millions simply because they believed in serving God.

In this new series, you will learn about the benefits of serving God and how you can serve him effectively in this generation.
