Unleashing the force of boldness in you

Sermon notes

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed

Revelation 5::5

The wicked fleeth when no man pursueth but the righteous are as bold as a lion

Proverbs 28:1

Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Judah and you as a new creature in Christ having been made righteous are a lion too. After all the Scripture is very clear that 'as he is so are we in this world.' (1John 4:17). Jesus was the epitome of boldness when he was on the earth. Yes, he was the Lamb of God but also the Lion of the tribe of Judah. When dealing with people and his Father he was the lamb but when he dealt with devils, diseases and circumstances he was always a lion. Satan hates boldness and to be frank with you that is the only language he understands. Boldness is a major ingredient to resist the enemy and to appropriate miracles.

The only language the devil understands is the language of boldness and violence

As you peruse the pages of the book of Acts you will also discover that boldness played an important role in the success of the early church. Peter and John were noted for their boldness after the miracle of the man who was crippled from his mother's womb.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Acts 4:13,14

Boldness triggers the supernatural and shuts the mouth of your enemy.  In fact boldness was so important to the early church that they prayed for it,

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:29-31

When the church felt threatened, they prayed for boldness. This means when your life is threatened, the way to end this threat is release boldness. Boldness will end the threat of the devil. They asked for boldness to see healing, signs and wonders which means it is impossible to have a miracle ministry without the ingredient of boldness. This boldness to trigger the supernatural was demonstrated by Peter who did not wait for the crippled to be healed but lifted him up where two brand new legs came shooting down to the point the man could run and praise God. This was a creative miracle of God as the man did not need therapy before he could walk. It takes boldness to see the creative miracles and signs and wonders in your ministry.

it is impossible to have a miracle ministry without the ingredient of boldness

Allow me to give you some thoughts on boldness and then show you how to unleash that force within you.

  • Boldness enables that which was inaccessible to become accessible
  • Boldness enables others to follow in your footsteps
  • Boldness activates the miraculous
  • Boldness empowers you to take the Promised Land and make it Possessed Land

Without boldness the Promised Land will be Potential Land rather than the Possessed land. Potential is something that could be but is yet to be. What takes something from potential to potency  is boldness. Before I show you how to release this force in your life, let us first define boldness. What is it?

  • Boldness is fearless attitude
  • Boldness is fearless speech
  • Boldness is fearless action

How do we unleash the spirit of boldness in our lives?

  • Know who you are

The righteous is bold as a lion. Therefore you must understand your position as the righteousness of God in Christ. You must understand positional truth in Christ. You must understand New Creation realities.

  • Know whose you are - God is with you

Acts 27 Paul said, 'I belong to God'

  • Know what has been said - The Word

Hebrews 13:5, 6

  • Know what has been shed for you

Hebrews 10:19 - Blood gives me boldness

the shed blood of Jesus gives me access to that which was at one time inaccessible.

  • Pray for it - As the early church did

Acts 4
