The Rapture Of The Saints Part 2

Signs of his coming

In our last article we were looking at the great doctrine of  The Rapture of the church. It is the next prominent event in the prophetic agenda of God. As it stands there is no prophecy that needs fulfillment for the rapture to take place and that means that it can happen at any moment. The question to ask yourself is, 'Am I ready for the rapture?' It is a sobering thought when you look at modern Christianity who seems to be oblivious of the fact that the King is about to take his people out of this place.  You need to remember that in the Tribulation, God is dealing with Israel and the wicked nations. It has nothing to do with the church.

Throughout the ages the church has been persecuted for her stance of faith. We see the same things happening today in certain parts of the world that were happening in the early church. When you think of Communist China's persecution of Christians and the way Isis went through parts of the Middle East wreaking havoc on believers - not only born again believers but nominal Christians too. We also see how the enemy has been busy slaying Christians in the northern parts of Nigeria, in Kenya and in divers places in Africa.  Laws are being passed in China and Russia with a view to stop the furtherance of the Gospel. We also see things shifting in Europe. Recently the  Islamists and secularists were protesting Franklin Graham's meeting in Blackpool, England. They wanted the Home Office (Immigration Office) to deny Rev. Graham entry in the United Kingdom. These are signs that the imminent return of the Lord is upon us. When the world call that which is good evil and that which is evil good we know the rapture is imminent.  Here are a few signs informing us of his return,

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:1-15

Paul was encouraging his young protegée Timothy in his pastoral work. Timothy had been following the Lord from childhood and now he is going up in age but Paul wanted him to know that the same Scripture that made him wise in his youth will keep wise as he gets up in age. He explained to him the signs of the last days. Perilous times are upon this old world. Why? Because men will be

  • Blasphemers and disobedient to parents
  • Covetous, boasters and proud
  •  Lovers of themselves rather than God
  • Unthankful, unholy and  without natural affection
  • Trucebreakers and false accusers
  • Incontinent, fierce and despisers of those that are good
  • Traitors, heady and highminded
  • Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
  • Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof

Looking at these things mentioned above we see these traits in full manifestation our society. Jesus himself gave us some clues as it pertains to the end of the age when he said,

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.  Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;  But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Luke 17:26-30

Jesus told us before his coming that the last days will be a mirror of the days of Noah and the days of Lot. So what was it like in the days of Noah?

...And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Genesis 6:5,11,12

This pretty much sums up our world today. We see this blatantly playing out in America and other so called developed nations.

  • The wickedness of man was great
  • Every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually
  • Corruption
  • Earth filled with violence
  • All flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth

What about the days of Lot?

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:7

  • Giving themselves over to fornication
  • Aggressive sexual agenda
  • Sexual perversions being called sexual preferences

God loves the homosexuals  the same as he loves any other person! We as believers love all sinners for we all were born sinners and are saved by grace but the modern aggressive homosexual agenda and sexualization of society are signs that we are living in the last days. You can see it being pushed in the schools, universities,  Hollywood, news media, sports and politics. If you dare say anything or disagree with their cause then you are a bigot, homophobic, intolerant and any other names under the sun. You will hear these words, 'You can't judge me!' This is the exact scenario we see in the days of Lot when the angels visited him in Sodom,

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,  And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.  Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.  And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

Genesis 9:4-9

King Solomon was right when he said, 'There is nothing new under the sun and that which has been is that which will be.' The old saying, 'History repeats itself' is true and man does not seem to learn his lesson!
